September 2024 and we are still looking for that special foster or forever home for the lovely Bebè.
This is a heartfelt appeal on behalf of the most gentle little Setter you could ever wish to meet, our Bebè! We are really saddened and perplexed that no one has come forward to offer her a foster or forever home, It beggars the question, ‘Why?’
So I am asking, begging, someone, we have 4800 Facebook members let alone website visitors, to offer her the chance to put her head down on a pillar at night and be able to wake up the next morning knowing she is safe and in a loving home.
Please help us to help Bebè. We URGENTLY need a foster home. My wife and I would take her in a heartbeat but we have 8 dogs at the moment, 5 of which are rescue
The beautiful Bebè is about 2-3 years old. She was found about 18 month ago heavily pregnant and was taken into rescue where she had her puppies who have now been adopted.
She is a very gentle girl, but still very shy and wary of people. Her latest video below shows her behaviour when there are people around.
We need an experienced family for her who will be happy to work with her to overcome some of her fears. She gets on well with other dogs, not tested with cats. She has been spayed and is negative to Brucella C.
A recent test for leishmaniasis showed she is low positive. So what does this mean? It means she has been bitten by an infected Sandfly, leish is not uncommon in the Mediterranean and affects both humans and animals alike. It is managed with regular blood tests and medication.

One of our rescue dogs Paris had been diagnosed with the condition prior to our adoption in 2020. Nevertheless, we took on Paris who has become my forever companion and shadow – I could not, nor would not be without him. His life is absolutely normal barring the blood test to check the condition and if required medication which he has not required since 2021! So yes we are looking for a very special family to provide Bebe with the forever home she deserves. We are here to support the family who adopt Bebe.
An adoption fee and home check will apply and rescue back-up provided via SOS Italian Setters. Bebè is ready to pack her bags and travel.
