ADOPTED!!!!!!!! Hooray 😍

27 May 2024. Ivan has finally arrived in the UK and can rest in a home (see picture below) for the very first time in his life. He spent, in human years 🐾, the equivalent of 24 years waiting for this moment – can you imagine that! A huge thank you to his foster family for giving this lovely lad his freedom.

08 May 2024. We are renewing our Urgent Appeal for a very special forever home family for Ivan. He has been waiting 3 years for a home, yes 3 years – can you imagine, if a human that is around 24 years of lifetime!

We urgently need to find a very, very special foster or forever home family for Ivan. He has been in kennels for over THREE years now and unless we can find him a family he will miss his chance to find a home in the UK or Ireland in May. Please, please help Ivan to have a place of safety and love where he can sleep at night knowing the next day will dawn without fear or starvation.

Ivan English Setter

We have uploaded a video of the lovely Ivan having a cuddle in kennels! Watch and if you are that special person or family contact us today!

Ivan is a young dog, 3 maybe 4. He has been at the rescue centre near Naples for many many months, over a year now.

He did become ill while in rescue and that is very unfortunate as he originally tested negative for leishmaniasis. He is now low positive but he has been treated with the injections and is doing very well. Poor boy, we need a miracle for him. Someone who will love him and look after him for the rest of his life. Ivan is a gentle dog, good with all other dogs.

Please contact us if you can offer this loving boy a home.

For Ivan we are looking for a family with a willing to learn about leishmaniasis or with knowledge of its management, and importantly willing to follow our vets guidance. More information can be found on our Health Advice web page. Above all you are not alone as SOS Italian Setters is only a telephone call or email away.

Please download our Adoption/Foster Application Questionnaire (pdf or Word) and return to chiara@sositaliansetters.org.uk
