Allow us to introduce to prospective parents our very special little lady Giorgia.
Why do we call her petite or little, well she is really a perfect miniature Setter weighing in at a tiny 12kgs! If ever you wondered why we dedicate so much time to SOS Italian Setters rescue work read on and I doubt you will not be moved by her plight.
Has Giorgia’s story inspired you? Are you interested in providing the warmth of a real loving foster home for him? If so please download our Adoption/Foster Application Questionnaire (pdf or Word) and return to chiara@sositaliansetters.org.uk

Last autumn rescuers in southern Italy, in an area called Castellammare, were alerted to a collapsed dog lying in the dust at the side of the road and essentially not moving. When the rescuers/volunteers arrived they found Giorgia lying unable to move. There is no doubt she would have died where she lay had the dedicated team of rescuers not rushed to her aid having learnt of her plight. Giorgia was taken to a veterinary clinic where she received life saving emergency treatment and tests. The tests revealed she has leishmaniasis (not surprising really) and lots of lymph nodes.
The fantastic news is that she has responded to treatment and is now doing very well. She is a wonderful delicate little lady who is good with everyone and just wants to be cuddled and loved. She is currently in a shelter and now ready to move to a home in the UK. Are you going to be her new foster parents? Maybe even to become her forever home! She is aged about 2 years, does have leish but with SOS Italian Setters at your side you need not worry as most of us involved either have now (Andrew & Carella) or have had in the past a dog with the condition.
