Update 16 June 2025

If have not already been introduced to our little star Eva this is her story so far! 🤩

A young happy little English setter, in foster in Bedfordshire. Ready to find her forever family and conquer the world!

You might remember her story: found tied to a tree to die….. she as a result had separation anxiety at the start after this traumatic experience. She now has matured, gained in confidence and has overcome this anxiety.

She is a cheerful lady, loves playing and running, is house trained and has very good recall. She walks also well on the lead and is good with any dogs.

No cats please. She is looking for an active family.

She was tested for leishmaniases and other diseases and was negative. She comes with an Italian passport. Home checks and adoption fees apply. She benefits from life long rescue back up.

Original posting below.

Do you remember Eva? The poor little girl who was left tied at a tree in open countryside in Calabria, left there to die… Eva has been in England since last Autumn as you may have seen her in previous posts. She is now ready to go to her forever home.

We are looking for a calm but active home with other dogs, no cats. Eva has suffered from awful separation anxiety, most certainly because of the trauma of being left tied at that tree by herself. She is doing very well now. No more destruction when being left. She loves to play with another dog and after all she is still very young, not even 2! She has a very good recall and she will need to be taken out for walks regularly, at least twice a day. She is still afraid of loud noises but getting better.

To know more about Eva and to meet her please contact Chiara (chiara@sositaliansetters.org) of use our Contact page.

Eva is currently in foster in Bedfordshire.

Eva is still a baby and maybe one or two at the most.

She was found tied to a tree in the countryside where she had been left to die an awful agonising death. How awful!

Fortunately, she was found and is now safe in the care of SOS Italian Setters. She is now available for adoption. Understandably, she is still a little afraid of people but she doesn’t run away and has already learnt to love her cuddles.

Are you inspired? Are you interested in providing the warmth and safety of a real loving adoptive or foster home for Eva? If so please download our Adoption/Foster Application Questionnaire (pdf or Word) and return to chiara@sositaliansetters.org.uk
