This is Rocco, 4 years old. He was found emaciated, looking very sad and miserable. The day we rescued him, in the evening there was a snow storm which he probably would not have survived. He is now in foster care in the Midlands UK and still looking for his very own permanent home.

Rocco’s school report from his UK foster parents is below!
Success!!! Rocco has mastered “sit” in exchange for a treat, carrots, sweet potato, apple cores and chicken feet.
I’ve been teaching him for a while and it’s not easy teaching a young dog who has never known living in a house and kindness so “sit” for a treat is a good place to start. He knows “No” and “Come here” but that one he only obeys when it suits him and if there are no interesting birds capturing his interest 😂.
He’s been with us as a foster for a month now and has come on in leaps and bounds. Rocco who was found half-starved in Calabria is looking for adopters, a family he can call his own and relax safe in the knowledge that this will be long term. We think he is best suited to a young family. He likes children and other dogs and is comfortable with cats. He needs plenty of exercise when he runs and sniffs and swims and then relaxes in a comfortable sofa in the evening usually head hanging over the edge in typical setter fashion. He’s an easy dog, readily got the hang of house training, eats well without jealously or possessiveness but is not above stealing food or emptying the rubbish bin if he’s bored. He has only recently discovered toys and now enjoys a game of tug with his humans or other young playful dogs.
